  • Christmas Card

I'll start my Christmas blogging with our Christmas card picture and others that were taken.  I wish I could take credit for these awesome pictures.  My good friend, Dana, came over on a Sunday afternoon and set up all of her equipment in our living room.  The kids did good at first and after Conner falling off the ottoman a couple times we knew we were done.  He doesn't know how to gently get off of high places, he just nose dives.  Anyway,  I was very pleased with the outcome!

This is the actual card photo

    Thanks Dana!!

  • Catching up

So as usual, I am playing catch up with our blog.  So much has happened since the last time I wrote so I plan on blogging about November and December over the next few days to get it all caught up!

The end of November is a big month in our household.  Both of our kids have their birthday on the 30th.  We did a big birthday party for the first time.  We've always had family parties and this time we invited friends along with family.  I decided to make it a cupcake themed party.  I had a friend give me a cupcake cookbook for my birthday that gave me the inspiration and it grew from there.  I decided on 5 cupcake recipes and searched the web for all things cupcake.  I found some cute cupcake stickers to adorn their invitations, I borrowed 5 cupcake stands, I had cupcake stickers made with the kids names for the party favors which were cupcake boxes that fit 4 cupcakes.  (each recipe made about 30 so we had plenty to send home with each kid)  I also found a cupcake pinata (sp?).   Avery had a great time with all of her friends!  I had a lot of fun planning it and seeing both the kids have such a fun time that I would love to do it every year.

I have to thank Dave Cranford for the wonderful pictures.  Our party would not have been this well documented if it weren't for him!  He took over 100 photos.  Here are just a few . . .

Avery opened a Harding Academy cheerleading outfit from Nana, Daddo and Aunt Jill.  She had to put it on right away!

We went to Nashville later in the week for Thanksgiving and we celebrated their birthdays with the cousins that weren't able to come.

  • Haircut & Halloween

We have been fighting colds in our family for a few weeks now.  Conner had it worse than any of us.  Poor little guy!  Poor thing, he had a runny nose, runny eyes, drool and hair in his eyes.  I decided one of those had to go.  All I could control was the hair.  Our little guy was born with a lot of hair and it has thickened up ever since.  He got is first haircut last Thursday.  There is a new place in LR called "Pigtails and Crewcuts" that cater to children.  I don't plan on paying for it again, but for a first haircut it was worth the splurge.  Conner got to sit in a yellow taxi cab and watch "Cars" while his baby hair was trimmed.  He looks pretty pathetic in the pictures b/c of his cold, but so much cuter with his new cut.

Avery was so excited about Halloween!  Friday night we went over to the Cranford's for dinner and then we went trick or treating around our neighborhood.

Avery felt compelled to hold onto Conner's mane incase he crawled off.  Avery is a pink poodle and Conner is a lion (not a sunflower like my dad originally thought).

Reagan and Avery carved a Cinderella pumpkin.  They did a great job!!

My parents came to town for Halloween weekend.  On Saturday we woke up early and drove to Fayetteville for the Razorback game.  My parents kept the kids at our hotel while Reagan and I went to the game.  We had a great time!!  We got to see some good friends that have moved to AR from Denver and catch up with them.  Sunday we decided to drive to Eureka Springs to see a church my dad has always wanted to visit.  He became familiar with it in his architecture books.  It was in a beautiful setting.

It's made of all glass and wood beams

  • Birthday Outfits Done

First I have to begin with a couple shots of my cute kids!  We were parked at Sonic, waiting for our food, when I took these pictures.  Reagan was on call last night and we were on our way home from church.  I wanted something quick for lunch so Sonic it was!  Conner is always tired after church and Avery is always ready to wake him up.  Which she did shortly after this picture!

So I usually try to enjoy the days that Reagan is on call.  There's no sense in moping around (I will admit sometimes I do!) that I am without Reagan and have the kids all by myself for close to 48 hours.  I usually rent a fun movie, sew, or something like that.  Last night I stayed up so late sewing and loving the outcome!  I finished the kid's birthday outfits!  A while back I bought some light pink and light blue corduroy fabric to do some matching outfits.  Remember their birthday's are on the same day so it's only obvious that they match!    I have always loved the cupcake outfits you can find in boutique stores but I am too cheap to buy them and I would have to buy two at one time.  So as those as my inspiration I made my own.  So I've found some VERY similar outfits on line.  They are reversible like mine and cost close to $100 each.  Are you kidding?!!

Here are mine at a fraction of store cost . . .

  • Tons of pictures!

I know, it has been a while and I have a ton of pictures to share.  Most of them are courtesy of my mom; she's the picture taker.  We took a trip to Nashville in September.  We, of course, had a great time!  I had found out just the week before that I was going to set up a monogramming booth at Duck Duck Goose children's consignment sale the week after we got back from our trip.  So I spent a lot of my time getting ready for that while we were there.  Mom and my grandparents graciously kept all 5 kids while the mommies went to Opry Mills to shop for the day.  We had a great time!  We also spent a good bit of Tuesday at a cute little play place called "Monkey Tree House".  For those of you who live in LR it is a lot like "the Wonder Place".  The kids had so much fun!  The next day, Lindsey and I got together so I could teach her how to smock.  We were really hoping then that she was going to have a girl.  (we found out a couple weeks ago that it's a girl!!)  The rest of the week was spent in front of the sewing machine and with family.  We had a great time!!  The kids did awesome on the car rides there and back.  I only made one stop each way.  Thank you Lord!!

Shortly after we got back from our trip we went to the zoo with some new friends at church.  Avery loves Nate and Hannah Beth!  It was a great morning to go.  It was beautiful weather and no crowds!

I love, love, love the fall and all the festivities it brings!  Reagan carved a McCain pumpkin for a Halloween party we went to and won first prize!  (I don't have a good picture of it download yet)  We came in runner up for our costume.  We went as Publisher's Clearing House.  Reagan dressed up as Ed McMan (sp?) and I dressed in my pj's, rollers and house slippers.  We borrowed a huge check and dressed it up a bit with PCH logos and some balloons.

I am starting to gear up for Avery and Conner's birthday.  I cannot believe it is time to celebrate Avery's birthday again.  It's crazy that Conner is almost 1!  Just a little over a month away.  So stay tuned . . .
